One World, One India: Reviving India’s Legacy at LPU
Lovely Professional University’s "One World One India" event became a vibrant celebration of India's diverse heritage, resonating with patriotism, historical pride, and cultural unity. Through compelling student-led exhibitions, LPU once again proved how education meets creativity and awareness.
A Journey into India’s Resistance and Glory
Walking through the exhibition, visitors were transported back in time. The atmosphere echoed with stories of resistance, sacrifice, and valor. The first scene that caught everyone's attention was a life-size sculpture of a warrior on horseback, sword raised high — symbolizing the indomitable spirit of India’s freedom fighters. Draped in traditional attire and staged with dramatic backdrops, the figure appeared to leap out of history, ready to defend the motherland.
This powerful representation wasn't just an artistic marvel but a symbolic reminder of India’s warriors — from Rani Laxmi Bai to the brave revolters of 1857 — who fought with unmatched courage against colonial powers.
Architectural Pride: Miniature Marvels of Temples
Two beautifully crafted models stood proudly beside informative posters — Prem Mandir and another intricately detailed temple structure. These weren't just cardboard constructions but reflections of India's spiritual and architectural grandeur. The precise carvings, domes, and towers were reminiscent of India’s ancient architectural mastery, reminding the audience of the civilizational richness rooted in art, devotion, and innovation.
Tributes to Forgotten Heroes
The educational displays also paid homage to historic figures like Begum Hazrat Mahal and Maulana Shaukat Ali. Begum Hazrat Mahal’s contribution during the 1857 revolt was highlighted through an informative backdrop and her painted portrait, evoking admiration for her role in India's first war of independence. Equally impactful was the tribute to Maulana Shaukat Ali, a leader of the Khilafat Movement, advocating for Hindu-Muslim unity and national freedom alongside Gandhiji.
These exhibits served not just as history lessons but as reminders of the inclusive and resilient fabric of Indian society — emphasizing that India’s freedom wasn’t won by a few, but by a collective spirit.
Students Lead the Way
The real heroes of this event, however, were the students. From conceptualizing to execution — sculptures, models, posters, and storytelling — everything was student-driven. Their dedication, attention to detail, and passion breathed life into India’s historical and cultural narrative.
Through "One World One India", students didn’t just showcase India’s past; they celebrated its soul — unity in diversity, courage, culture, and resilience.
In a world striving for identity and unity, LPU’s initiative is a reminder: before we are anything else, we are humans bound by stories, history, and shared dreams. And India’s story, as these students showed, is one of the richest of them all.
